20 years of partnership

Swinerton and Rubecon celebrate 20 years of partnership and putting our local residents to work. What started as an opportunity to increase Rubecon’s bonding capacity and better prepare the firm for larger projects, has evolved into a relationship that has deepened, one project at a time. Today, we are continuing to deliver the critical affordable housing that our community needs.

Our Values

We give our clients peace of mind by providing cost and schedule certainty early and look for ways to leverage efficiencies.

We remain focused on identifying intelligent solutions with the client’s best interest at heart.

We share an unceasing commitment to equality, diversity, and flexibility.

We are passionate about what we do and how we impact the communities where we build.

OUR HISTORY

Swinerton and Rubecon transform and renovate San Francisco housing owned by the United Farm Workers. This project put our local residents to work and laid the blueprint for what would later become San Francisco’s Local Hire Program.

Building on the success of this work, Swinerton Rubecon JV was selected to build the Temporary Hall of Justice for the City of Richmond.

Our partnership has deepened through mentorship with our self-perform teams as we work together currently on Mission Rock Parcel A in San Francisco for Tishman Speyer and the SF Giants.

Swinerton Rubecon leaders continue to serve in advisory roles to San Francisco officials with workforce development initiatives and other priority policies.

Swinerton Rubecon Joint Venture selected to put our community to work on Transbay Block 2 Towers.

ABOUT US

Our team recently completed 157 Units of 100% affordable housing for families and seniors in San Francisco’s Mission District with BRIDGE Housing and Mission Housing Development Corporation.

Swinerton

We truly believe in the importance of increasing the supply of affordable housing throughout California.

Swinerton brings more than 130 years of experience in helping address physical and social needs. From helping the City of San Francisco recover and rebuild after the 1906 Earthquake and Fire, to helping address California’s current challenges posed by the housing crisis.

We have a culture of helping the communities we serve to become more resilient. Some of our nonprofit partners include: Mercy Housing, BRIDGE Housing, Mission Housing Development Corporation, Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, and more.

The fundamental key to our success is our knowledge of affordable housing quality requirements and

our ability to collaborate closely with the owner to work through budget constraints. We understand the challenges faced by developers as you work through the myriad issues of financing, design, cost, and schedule, guiding the project from a conceptual state to a final design that meets quality standards and is within budget.
